Life by Design

A life-transforming workshop

Acting Class

Now Available

At the Bubbler Theatre!

A six-week acting course, taught by local actor Tommy Lee Kirby, is available at the Bubbler Theatre.

This course will cover the basic fundamentals of acting for both theatre and film.  It will cover techniques from both Stanislavski and Uta Hagen.  Also included are techniques on how to take the lines directly off the page and be true to the character in the script as well as inside yourself.

Classes start on Wednesday, February 3rd at 6:30pm, so sign up now.  The limit is 15 seats and they’re filling up fast!

Cost is $75 per person.  This class is limited to adults 18 years and up, but younger students may be taken on a case-by-case basis.

  • Stanislavski’s magic “What if?”
  • Uta Hagen’s “What to do when you’re not doing anything.”
  • Taking the lines off the page
  • Improvisation
  • Preparing for audition

Tommy Lee Kirby has been performing since the age of eight.  He studied Theatre in both junior and senior high school and Media Productions at the University of Houston.  He has studied independently for the past six years the techniques of Stanislavski, Uta Hagen, Harold Gusken and under the guidance of Austrian playwright Michael Haneke at Houston’s own Next Actor Studio.  His acting resume ranges from roles as demanding as a murderous jealous brother to roles as fun as a flaming homosexual reindeer named, Cupid.
